Chapter 1: General Provisions
1.1 Name
The name of the association is the Australian Renewable Energy Association (hereinafter referred to as “AREA”).
1.2: Establishment
The Association is established as a non-profit, industry-focused organization, composed voluntarily by entities engaged in reneable projects and product manufacturing, research, design, inspection, distribution, and consulting services. This includes product manufactures, product distributors/ wholesaler/project developers/ EPC service providers, finance service providers and theprivate enterprises in the renewable energy sector, dedicated to advancing the renewable energy sector and contributing to sustainable and renewable energy solutions.
1.3: Purpose
AREA is committed to:
– Upholding Australian laws and regulations.
– Protecting and promoting the interests of its members.
– Instilling industry self-regulation and ethical conduct.
– Facilitating member collaboration and knowledge sharing.
– Serving as a conduit between the sector, government, and society.
– Encouraging fair competition and orderly sector development.
1.4: Non-Profit Status
AREA functions as a non-profit entity under Australian legislation, with all proceeds reinvested to further AREA’s mission.
1.5: Membership
Membership is granted to applicants actively involved in or contributing to the renewable energyindustry, pursuant to AREA’s membership criteria.
1.6: Governance
AREA is governed by a Board of Directors, elected by the membership, accountable for AREA’s strategic, operational, and compliance oversight.
Chapter 2: Scope of Business
2.1 Industry Self-Regulation:
· Standards and Conduct: Develop and enforce industry standards and a code of conduct to ensure ethical practices, quality, and safety across the renewable energy sector.
· Dispute Resolution: Establish clear guidelines and a mechanism for the resolution of disputes among members or between members and external parties, fostering a cooperative and harmonious industry environment.
2.2 Exchange and Cooperation:
· Economic and Technical Exchange: Facilitate forums, roundtables, and conferences for members to discuss industry trends, technological innovations, and market opportunities.
· Academic Collaboration: Encourage and support academic exchange and research collaboration between universities, research institutions, and industry players to advance solar energy research and development.
2.3 Industry Information:
· Information Consulting: Provide members with timely and accurate industry news, regulatory updates, market analysis, and technical advancements.
· Policy Advocacy: Act as a voice for the renewable energy industry, engaging with government bodies to influence energy policy, regulations, and standards that impact the sector.
2.4 Information Services:
· Consultancy: Offer consultancy services to members on project development, financial planning, and strategic investment in the renewable energy sector.
· Policy Recommendations: Provide evidence-based policy recommendations to the government and stakeholders to support the growth and competitiveness of the renewable energy industry.
Chapter 3: Membership
3.1: Categories of Membership
The Association comprises Corporate Members and association partners. To maintain a balanced representation and encourage corporate engagement.
3.2: Membership Requirements
Membership to the Association is open to those who:
– (a) Endorse and commit to upholding the Association’s constitution.
– (b) Demonstrate a willingness and intention to join the Association.
– (c) Have a notable impact or contribution within the Association’s scope of activity.
– (d) Are actively involved in the energy renewable energy sector, including production, research, design, or distribution。
– (e) Display a strong commitment to the welfare of the Association and the broader renewable energy industry.
– (f) Participate actively in Association activities and fulfill responsibilities with initiative.
– (g) Commit to timely payment of membership dues.
– (h) Corporate members may nominate only one individual to represent them in the Association. Changes in representation should be formally communicated and recorded to the Association’s administrative office.
3.3: Application and Admission
The process for admission into the Association involves:
– (a) Corporate applicants submitting a formal application alongside supporting documents such as a copy of their business license, accreditation certificates, and a biography of the nominated representative.
3.4: Rights of Members
Members are entitled to:
– (b) Engage in discussions, offer suggestions, critique, and oversee the Association’s operations, including the right to vote on major issues.
– (c) Priority access to technical, operational, and other relevant information, including participation in events organized by the Association.
– (d) Requests for technical advice, services, and training will be prioritized by the Association.
– (e) Members with advanced technologies may be given priority for technology dissemination and consultancy roles.
– (f) The freedom to join or resign from the Association at will.
3.5: Obligations of Members
Members are required to:
– (a) Ensure their offerings meet national standards and industry benchmarks.
– (b) Adhere to the Association’s constitution and resolutions and protect its integrity and reputation.
– (c) Support and contribute to the Association’s efforts, including providing content for its newsletter.
– (d) Accept and complete tasks assigned by the Association and report on outcomes.
– (e) Actively participate in exhibitions, seminars, and other Association-organized events.
– (f) Pay membership dues on time, within the first quarter of each financial year for all members.
3.6: Resignation and Termination
Members wishing to resign must notify the Association in writing. Should a member violate the Association’s constitution, they may be subject to suspension or expulsion following a review and decision by the Board of Directors or Executive Committee.
